The Canon Pixma G3270 AIO is a touch above entry-level for a tank-based printer, thanks to its support for printing from mobile devices. A good fit for a home or home office, it offers a flatbed for scanning and a low running cost even for color pages.

The Pantum M7102DW mono laser all-in-one is compact enough to serve as a personal printer, but capable enough for a small office or workgroup, delivering fast output and solid text quality.

With high-quality output and fast print speeds at default settings, plus remote printing support, Epson's Expression Home XP-5200 All-in-One printer is at home in a home office.

The Pantum BM5100ADN AIO printer delivers on speed and paper capacity, and it offers automatic duplexing for printing and scanning. It's a solid choice for a small office or workgroup.

The Epson EcoTank ET-2850 is very good for family use. It can print thousands of pages before you need to refill its tanks, and replacement ink is cheap. There's a flatbed scanner to scan old pictures, drawings, or pages from a recipe book. However, while it prints very sharp, detailed photos, color accuracy is poor, so most images won't necessarily come out looking like the original.

Need excellent-quality borderless photos at sizes up to 8.5 by 11 inches? Epson's six-ink Expression Photo XP-8700 will get you those sharp prints, plus do some light-duty document handling.

The Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-300 is an excellent photo printer. It produces outstanding, high-quality photos with very clear details and accurate colors. Also, it supports wide format paper up to 13" x 19". Unfortunately, while its ink cartridges yield a good number of color prints, they're expensive, so it can be very costly to maintain over time if you print a lot. Lastly, it prints very slowly, taking well over two minutes to print a 4" x 6" photo.

The six-ink Canon Pixma G620 prints extremely well, especially for photos, at some of the lowest running costs in the business. Its low speed and missing automatic document feeder disqualify it for office work, but it's a great value for families.
