The Canon PIXMA TS3520 is mediocre for family use. It has decent connectivity options and prints very good-quality photos with reasonable color accuracy. However, it doesn't yield many black or color pages, meaning you'll have to replace the ink cartridges fairly often, resulting in high maintenance costs. Also, while its scanner has a high scan resolution and color depth, the quality of scanned images is mediocre.

The HP ENVY 6455e is mediocre for family use. Its print quality for documents is decent at best, and due to its narrow color range, printed photos look muted and lacking in detail. As for the scanner, although it has a high scan resolution, it has trouble capturing finer details, which isn't ideal for digitizing photos. Unfortunately, the ink cartridges run out quickly, so you need to replace them often, which can get very expensive if you print a lot. On the bright side, it has decent connectivity options and is compatible with HP's feature-rich app, making it easy to connect to the printer and get stuff done.

The HP ENVY 6055e is mediocre for family use. Its print quality for black and color documents isn't very good, and photos look flat and unnatural due to its narrow color range and poor accuracy. Also, its ink cartridges run out quickly, making it expensive to maintain. It has a high-resolution scanner, but the scan quality is only passable as it doesn't pick up finer details, which isn't ideal for digitizing photos. On the upside, it has decent connectivity options, including Wi-Fi, USB, and support for Apple AirPrint and Mopria Print Service, and its mobile companion app is feature-rich.

The HP M209dwe is good for black-and-white printing. It yields lots of black pages at a very low cost-per-print, and it can automatically print double-sided pages. Unfortunately, it's quite slow at printing documents, and it takes some time to wake up and print its first page. Also, there's no scanner, which may be a problem if you occasionally need to scan.

The HP LaserJet MFP M234sdwe is good for black and white printing. While it’s disappointingly slow at printing text documents, it has a high page yield and a very low cost-per-print. It’s a well-built laser model that provides easy access to paper jams and the toner cartridge. Also, there’s both a flatbed scanner and an automatic document feeder. Unfortunately, it can’t perform duplex scanning, which may be a bother if you need to scan large, double-sided documents often.

The HP 9025e is great for small or home offices. It yields a large number of pages for both black and color documents, which helps keep the cost-per-print incredibly low. The printing speed is great, with subsequent pages coming out a bit faster than the first page. It has an automatic document feeder, as well as a single-pass duplex scanning feature, so you don't have to scan two-sided sheets manually. Unfortunately, the scanner's lid hinges can't extend to accommodate thick books. Also, there's an issue with the ADF scanner that causes tilted scans.

The Kyocera ECOSYS P2235dw is great for black and white printing. It's a well-built printer that yields an incredible number of pages at a very low cost-per-print. While its first page takes some time to print, subsequent pages are significantly faster. It has an Ethernet port and offers some wireless printing options, but it lacks a scanner and a display screen.

The Canon G2260 is satisfactory for family use. It has a high-resolution flatbed scanner with high color depth, which is great for digitizing photos. While its photo printing quality and color accuracy are only decent, they should be more than fine for hobbies and casual photos. It has an incredibly low cost-per-print for both black and color printing. Unfortunately, it doesn't support printing from a USB thumb drive or SD card, and it doesn't have a mobile app.

The HP OfficeJet 250 is okay for family use. It prints decently-detailed photos, though images look a little grainy. It has an automatic document feeder and a copy function with high resolution, but unfortunately, it doesn't have a flatbed scanner. It can't automatically scan or print double-sided pages, and since it has a low page yield, the cost of replacing the cartridges can quickly exceed the price of the printer itself.

The Epson WorkForce Pro WF-3820 is a decent printer for a home or small office. It has an efficient design that makes accessing paper jams and ink cartridges easy. It produces sharp documents and prints fairly quickly overall. As for its page yield, its black ink cartridge runs out quickly, but the color cartridges last a while. The cartridges are cheap, though, so the printer won't cost too much to maintain over time. Unfortunately, although the scanner is equipped with an automatic feeder, it doesn't support duplex scanning, so you'll have to flip the pages manually when scanning double-sided sheets.
