The RM850 offers solid performance at a reasonable price, but only consider it if the street price is significantly lower than the RM850x.

The E850 is a good PSU. However, it costs notably more than the SSR-850FX it's based on. The added digital controller doesn't improve performance, and it doesn't help keep the E850's noise down. On the other hand, NZXT's E850 uses higher-quality caps than Seasonic's original platform. And the data-rich bundled software should help enthusiasts monitor the health of their hardware. If only the readings it reported were more accurate...

EVGA's 1000 G5 has acceptable performance, but the company's own G3 1000 is much quieter and more efficient for about the same price.

The PowerSpec PSX 850GFM achieves a high value score thanks to its fair price. For a few dollars more, though, there are better-performing PSUs out there. This power supply is worth considering if you don't want to spend more than $100, but must have integrated RGB lighting.

One of the smallest VR-ready mini PCs we’ve tested, the X1 is a viable choice for the money if you like the tiny footprint and generous connectivity options, and don’t mind the modest storage capacity and upgrade limitations of an MXM video card.

The new Straight Power 11 unit with 1kW capacity features high build quality and its platform has decent performance. The major problem of this unit is the similar priced competition which besides higher overall performance, also features a more silent operation along with a longer warranty. be quiet! needs to drop the price of this product by 20-30 bucks, in order to improve its performance per buck ratio. This platform is highly capable and well built, but it needs some changes in order to keep up with the rest offerings in this category.

The 1600 T2 uses one of the best analogue platforms, which offers tons of power, is resilient to heat and has been proven very reliable so far. In combination with the loads of available connectors and the double-ball bearing fan, this PSU is ideal for super tough tasks, including mining applications. If you are able to find it available somewhere and you can afford its stiff price, it won't let you down, that's for sure.

The ST1200-PT would achieve a much higher overall performance rating score if its ripple suppression on the minor rails was within spec, under high ambient. Moreover, we would like to see an accurate power ok signal and the fan profile should be less aggressive. On the other hand the build quality is good, load regulation is satisfactory and the PSU is equipped with a great number of cables. The magnetic fan filter is a nice addition as well and with 18cm depth, the PSU will fit into most ATX cases. The competition in this price range is tough though, and offers even longer warranty periods.

A decent performing PSU with a pretty high warranty period for this category and enough wattage to meet the demands of a strong system. However it is outperformed by the CX650M which is equipped with the same amount of EPS and PCIe connectors and costs less. Only if you need more SATA and peripheral connectors the CX750M should be preferred over the smaller model.
