Although we might have hoped for better performance in taxing graphics workloads, Nvidia's GeForce GT 1030 performs admirably in the competitive gaming titles it was designed to service. Moreover, a low price, power-friendly architecture, and compelling form factor make the card accessible to just about anyone with an available PCIe slot.

The general problem with all GeForce GTX 1070 Ti cards affects this model as well. Nvidia's mandated clock rates mean it doesn't matter if you buy a reference card or a fancy third-party board. The overclocking limits and factory performance are all about the same, plus or minus a few percent. Unfortunately, this card is especially problematic due to its issues with fan control and resulting noise. Even if Zotac were to fix that with a firmware update, though, there's no way we'd suggest spending $500 on a 1070 Ti when GeForce GTX 1080 cards start in the same range.

GeForce GTX 1070 Ti lands just where you’d expect it. Nvidia knew its target and hit it. We only wish the company was more aggressive with pricing. Instead, it chooses to leave nothing on the table. Expect great frame rates at 2560x1440, similar to GeForce GTX 1070 and Radeon RX Vega 56, but nothing you haven’t seen before.

EVGA's GeForce GTX 1080 Ti FTW3 Gaming is good right out of the box, and thanks to the company's lenient attitude towards water-cooling, this card has the chance to become a favorite among those willing to perform a conversion. Likewise, enthusiasts who'd prefer a two-slot cooler to the many triple-slot 1080 Tis out there (particularly in multi-GPU configurations) might consider the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti FTW3 Gaming an ideal candidate.
