The Vitamix 7500 is superb for multi-purpose use. This well-built, premium-looking blender can easily crush snow-like ice and blend silky smoothies. It can also hot blend, which is nice. It produces sticky, spreadable almond butter that's the slightest bit grainy, and it doesn't leave any unprocessed chunks behind. The lid, container, and tamper aren't dishwasher-safe; however, they can be hand-washed for a quick and easy clean-up. This blender doesn't have many extra features or components, but it has an impressive performance.

The Vitamix A2300 is fantastic for multi-purpose use. This sturdy blender comes with a 64-ounce main jar, two-part lid, and tamper. It makes an extremely smooth puree with fibrous fruits and vegetables, whether you're working with small or big batches. It's easy to use to make nut butter and snow-like crushed ice. It's also easy to clean by hand and dishwasher-safe. However, there are no onboard blending programs, although you can access a variety through a companion app.

The Nutribullet Smart Touch Blender is the latest and greatest full-size blender from this well-respected brand. It features a large-capacity BPA-free plastic pitcher with a safety locking lid, which sits on a sleek black base. With four auto programs as well as three speeds it offers just enough settings without getting complicated. It’s pricier than Nutribullet’s other full-size blender, but it performs much better, so we think it’s worth the extra.

The Breville Super Q does have a commercial look that wouldn’t be out of place in your local café, but it has enough design features to look just as much at home in your own kitchen. It has a large capacity jug and is easy to use with all the features we’d expect. It isn’t designed for very small quantities though, and couldn’t make a small mayo recipe until we doubled the ingredients. It’s ideal for households that want to blend large quantities and don’t mind its big size.

The Vitamix A2500 is superb for multi-purpose use. It does a fantastic job with most recipes using its 64-ounce jar, easily pureeing stubborn ingredients like kale and blueberries and making smooth dips and spreads like nut butter. It can hot blend and offers a wide range of speed settings for different recipes. Unlike the Vitamix A2300, its onboard controls include a few blending programs that stop the blender automatically when it's done. It's very sturdy but is on the loud side compared to other Vitamix blenders like the A3500.

The Ninja DUO blender is excellent for single servings of smoothies. It comes with a pair of 20oz vacuum-seal jars, which are meant to help keep smoothies fresher for longer. It smoothly blends fibrous ingredients like kale and blueberries to produce a silky smoothie with most recipes. The jars are dishwasher-safe and come with to-go lids. However, it's a loud blender and can be tedious to clean by hand.

It can make snow-like crushed ice and process hot ingredients. It can also produce smooth, spreadable nut butter, but it's difficult to use for that purpose. It can be somewhat difficult to clean the blades by hand, but the jar and lid are dishwasher-safe.

The Hamilton Beach Professional Quiet Blender is great for multi-purpose use. The noise dome makes it quiet for a full-size blender, and it has four preset modes and 10 speed settings to suit different recipes. It makes silky smoothies and smooth almond butter. It can produce snow-like crushed ice, although it leaves some unprocessed ice cubes. You can also use it for hot blending; however, you need to follow some specific instructions in the manual, including removing the noise dome, taking out the centerpiece of the lid, using no more than 16 ounces of ingredients at once, and blending at low speeds.
