The new Galaxy Watch Active from Samsung lacks the company’s signature rotating bezel, but it still strikes a very appealing mix of features for the price.

The Galaxy Watch Active is the best Samsung smartwatch for most people. Despite not having the great rotating bezel of other models, it packs in GPS, full waterproofing and great performance for the best comparable price.
It’s light, subtle and the battery lasts three days under most conditions. Connection to phones is solid and the display is lovely, if a little small. I found myself wearing it all the time, which is the best compliment you can pay a smartwatch. Recommended.

With the two Galaxy Watch Active models coming being introduced less than six months apart it’s no surprise that not a huge amount has changed.
The Active 2 might have a bigger screen, touch sensitive bezel, ECG and LTE but all of these tweaks come at quite a lot of extra cost. The older model is better value and still feels essentially brand new.

El smartwatch Galaxy Watch Active nos parece una apuesta muy interesante por parte de Samsung. Han bajado el precio de una forma considerable y con su nuevo diseño la firma ha conseguido empezar a diferenciar entre relojes fitness y smartwatches.

The price difference between these two models, while also considering the more modern version is cheaper – and arguably better looking, makes this a no brainer. While we did like the Galaxy Watch, the Active is the clear favourite here.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch Active is the spiritual younger sibling of the company's flagship smartwatch, and retains most of the software features and battery life but skimps out on the iconic rotating bezel. However, considering that the Watch Active is significantly cheaper than most full-fledged smartwatches, and has ample fitness-related functionality, it’s difficult to find anyone the Galaxy Watch Active isn’t suited to.
