Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is a return to typical Treyarch form with a promising Zombies mode and old-school multiplayer outing, backed up by excellent visuals that make full use of the next-gen consoles. Especially with the handy immersion of the PS5's DualSense, this year's Call of Duty is well worth grabbing to flesh out your next-gen games collection. Just watch out for the mediocre campaign and some performance issues.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War manages to cram four games into one, giving you endless ways to play the long-running shooter. But that ultimately hurts the experience by turning it into a bloated mess, with each mode competing against another for your attention.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is a solid entry in the blockbuster franchise that looks stunning on next-gen consoles.  While its campaign fails to deliver on its potential, it still takes you on a thrilling tale of explosive espionage as you uncover the true identity of Perseus. Combine this with an old-school multiplayer component and expanded Zombies mode and you’ve got a shooter experience I can easily recommend.
