God of War Ragnarök, out on November 8th on the PlayStation, follows up and exceeds its predecessor, God of War, with improved features and an amazing story.

Disco Elysium is a unique blend of noir-detective fiction, traditional pen-and-paper RPGs, and a large helping of existentialist theory. Its twisting plot, cast of memorable characters, and sheer depth of choice combine to create an experience that begs to be savoured. It hits on every single one of the marks it sets out to achieve and left me yearning to spend more time in its world. Removing any of the minor gripes I had with the original by adding new quests and a full cast of well-voiced characters, The Final Cut elevates Disco Elysium from an already phenomenal RPG to a true must-play masterpiece.

The Last of Us Part II is not a perfect game, and it’s not even a particularly revolutionary one. But it is a great game.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is one part timely social commentary, one part “Did you see Blazkowicz ride that robot-dog through the streets of New Orleans?” No other game could pull this off.

Diablo 4 is a meticulously crafted action RPG and sets a new standard for isometric, open-world adventures.

With option-rich mechanics, community-centric online features, numerous entertaining modes, and excellent netcode, Street Fighter 6 is a fighting game both casual and hard-core genre fans will love.

Resident Evil 4 VR is not only the best horror game we've played on the Oculus Quest 2 but one of the best VR games we've ever played. If you own an Oculus headset and can handle being frightened this is a must-play game for fans of the series and total newbies.

Red Dead Redemption 2 serves up complex themes and characters, a heart-achingly beautiful world that looks like an actual western.

The visual upgrades are more modest than you might expect, but the extra definition and detail and the enhanced effects make The Last of Us even more stunning and richly cinematic, while the steady frame rate improves the gameplay. There’s probably not enough of a difference to justify buying the same game twice, but if you have a PS4 and haven’t played The Last of Us, then you can consider this edition a must-buy.
