If you're reading this, it was unlikely that you weren't already going to buy Uncharted 2: Among Thieves on day one. Really, you just wanted to know how good it is, and fortunately I can say that it's very, very good. It's easily one of the best games on the system, blending fantastic presentation and visuals with gameplay that is practically second to none. And then there's the stellar multiplayer which you'll probably be playing until Uncharted 3 ships. No, Uncharted 2 is not perfect, but it's closer than pretty much any other game out there these days.

Whether you're new to R&C or someone who has played them all, Ratchet and Clank Future deserves to be in your library no matter what. Not only has it supplanted Going Commando as the best title in the franchise, it's also the best game of any series on the PlayStation 3 thus far -- and that's saying a lot when you're up against Oblivion, Ninja Gaiden, Warhawk and Insomniac's very own previous effort, Resistance: Fall of Man.

The highly anticipated sequel to 2011's runaway hit action-RPG arrives with a terrifyingly immersive environment packed with difficult challenges. This is classic role playing at its finest—even with some wacky collision detection.

If I was going to be rude about Ninja Gaiden Sigma, I would tell you that it’s a relentlessly violent action game made by and for breast-fixated adolescent males with an obsessive interest in martial arts, fantasy, the more dubious flavours of Japanese anime and the worst kind of low-brow heavy rock.

In Dirt 3 a few scratches tarnish an otherwise impeccable product. It’s a superb racing experience and shouldn’t be missed. While the agent isn’t the best leader through the tour, and the garage is limited in its operation, the solid gameplay, variety of tracks and events, and overall fun factor make this a terrific game.

Though WWE ’13 wisely retains the massive, necessary and fundamentally great gameplay changes of last year, it still continues to find ways to advance THQ’s franchise as a whole. Of particular note is the game’s superb single-player experience, which should serve as the foundation for all future endeavors. If anything, the smart objective design and use of archival WWE footage makes us want more – and there’s no turning back. Still, there are flaws – some lingering from past years and some because of experimentation that doesn’t quite work. Some video, audio and animation issues appear frequently, and the Universe and Creative modes could certainly use some retooling, if only for an improved user interface. That said, THQ’s accomplishments in revamping its wrestling games are clear. Here’s hoping that continues.

Sony has jump-started its newest racing franchise in a fantastic way. Yes, the limited number of tracks and gameplay options hold it back quite a bit, but the fundamental racing is incredible. The variety in vehicle types is great, the track designs are awesome and the online is extremely fun. We simply cannot wait for a sequel.

Madden NFL 15 makes playing defense as fun as running offense, and improves on the game modes that make the football series so addictive.

XCOM is a great addition to the strategy genre, complete with an engaging campaign full of tension and challenges. The characters grow in satisfying ways, but the tactical game doesn't ever quite give players enough room to make the most of their abilities.
