The Alienware with the RTX 3080 and a mechanical keyboard is a performance monster in its class, but it doesn't solve the associated problems regarding noise and waste heat very well. Another shortcoming is the almost unacceptable battery life compared to the competition.

The Aorus 15G XC is a high-performance gaming laptop without any major issues. Nonetheless, the lack of innovation other than the new GPU and the many missing features compared to the predecessor are a little disappointing.

The Latitude 3440 is neither impressive nor disappointing. Instead, it is a no-frills business laptop with just the right amount of optional bells and whistles to satisfy most office tasks.

Bringing the best of AMD and NVIDIA again for the latest Asus ROG Strix Scar 17 means high performance gaming in a laptop that’s better than ever. Beyond the specs is an impressive audio/visual package inside a war-ready chassis. Be mindful that the exceptionally high price of admission doesn’t provide standard-setting features when it comes to biometric security, web conferencing, or battery life, however.

This Strix G17 is a compelling mid-tier laptop, in either this RTX 4070 variant or the more affordable RTX 4060 configuration. I still have my nits with some of the ergonomics of this series and find the offered configurations somewhat unbalanced, with the beastly AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX processor and only mid-tier GPU options. But my main gripe with this series is the poor efficiency on battery power, which might be enough to steer some of you toward the Strix G16/G18 models, despite their higher price.
