We loved – strike that – still love the LG G2, so we’re pleased to find the LG G3 is a solid upgrade to the G2. It has a faster processor, an improved camera and the ability to expand the phone’s internal storage with a microSDXC card, plus it beats all its rivals with a quad-HD screen and good value for money.

LG trumped the competition with the G2. The phone offers a combination of value for money with high-end features which we haven’t seen from rival flagship devices. A great specification combined with impressive design and handy software features mean there’s very little to dislike about this handset – only really the lack of a microSD card slot. That fault is rectified in the new LG G3, and if you can afford that handset it will be worth the upgrade. But the LG G2 remains a great handset.

The LG G2 features 3G and 4G connectivity and performs admirably across both network types. Connections proved strong during call and online use, and we suffered no unexpected signal loss or dropped calls during our time with the phone. Call quality was sharp and clear and volume was easily managed using the rear-mounted controls.
