With a modest speed boost and a new color choice, the Microsoft Surface Pro 6 may not have changed much from the previous iteration, but what we loved about this 2-in-1 convertible then, we still love now.

The Surface Pro 6 is the best detachable Windows 10 PC money can buy, except for one glaring error: no USB-C or Thunderbolt 3.

Microsoft’s Surface Pro 6 looks and feels just like the model from last year. The Surface Pro needs modern ports and an updated design.

With 8th-gen Intel processors, all Surface Pro 6 models see decent performance but it’s hard to find any other changes from the previous two generations. That’s not a bad thing, and it’s still a good buy if you’re after a Windows 10 tablet that also works as a laptop, but if you can afford it consider the more recent Pro 7, which jumps to 10th gen  chips and adds USB-C.

Microsoft’s Surface Pro 6 is faster, has longer battery life and now comes in a sleek, new black shell, but that’s about it. It’s unquestionably better than last year’s model. However, it isn’t the generational leap many of us were waiting for. If you already have a Surface Pro 2017, this upgrade isn’t worth it. If you don’t, then this is the best Windows tablet to buy right now.

The iPad Pro 11 came in 2018 with a design refresh - squarer edges and further bezel reduction. It had Face ID over Touch ID and swapped Lightning for USB-C.

The specs for the Surface Pro 6 seem to indicate a large boost in performance over the 5, considering it’s the first time a quad-core processor has been seen inside a Surface Pro. This much of a performance boost for a 10% increase in price seems like a good trade up, and when you include the much longer promised battery life the Surface Pro 6 is starting to look like a winner.
