Despite stiff competition, ExpressVPN has once again proved itself to be the very best VPN on the market. Intuitive and impeccably coded apps, class-leading privacy and security credentials, excellent streaming performance and good speeds make it the complete package. It's more expensive than most of its rivals, but none are as well-rounded and reliable – here, it's a case of you really do get what you pay for.

ExpressVPN delivers a great service that’s fast and offers support for many different types of devices. It’s expensive, though, and lacks a few features which rivals offer at a lower cost.

ExpressVPN has a huge network, plus it's fast, secure, unblocks Netflix and just about everything else, supports torrents, has no serious logging (confirmed by an audit), offers apps for everything, and is easy to use. In short, this is a quality VPN which delivers in just about every area.

Aircove is an appealing VPN router, especially if your connected home is stuffed with smart devices which need ExpressVPN's top-rated protection. Setup is exceptionally easy, you're ready to go in a few minutes, and it's good value, too.

LogMeIn Hamachi works well to provide a safe environment for collaboration groups and multiplayer gaming teams by creating their own on-demand VPN where one of the computers acts as a server. However, it lacks the advanced security, premium VPN features, and censorship bypassing capabilities that only a classic VPN can provide.

Ultrasurf is a free anti-censorship tool that does exactly what it advertises - giving you access to censored or otherwise blocked content, hiding your IP from websites, and encrypting your traffic, but that’s about it. It lacks the power of a full VPN since it doesn’t use advanced protection mechanisms, doesn’t have lots of servers, it’s slow, doesn’t let you choose the server to connect to and doesn’t have the readily available customer support.
