ViewSonic Elite XG320U

Though its 150 Hz overclock feature doesn’t add any perceivable improvement, the ViewSonic XG320U is an excellent Ultra HD gaming monitor. Its gaming performance is excellent, and it has one of the largest color gamuts I’ve ever measured. And it delivers superb HDR. It’s a great addition to the premium category.

ViewSonic's Elite XG320U has all the makings of a great 4K gaming monitor for PC and console gamers, but a few minor holdups keep it from reaching the top echelon.

Viewsonic’s XG320U aims to please both PC and console gamers with HDMI 2.1 connectivity, 4K resolution, a refresh rate up to 150Hz, and HDR. Its success has everything to do with the games you play. It looks great in games that lean on bombastic presentation, but its lackluster contrast is disappointing in darker games. The monitor is also burdened with an annoying on-screen menu and mediocre connectivity. Despite its flaws, the XG320U is a reasonable choice if you want an HDMI 2.1 monitor in 2021. The $999 MSRP is competitive for a monitor with its feature set and its image quality is in line with most HDMI 2.1 monitors. The XG320U will appeal to gamers who also need a monitor for content creation as its accurate color, wide color gamut, and decent selection of image quality options are suited to photo and video editing.
