Sony INZONE M3

The Sony INZONE M3 is great for PC gaming. With a fast 240Hz refresh rate, you can use it for gaming at a high frame rate, and it has excellent motion handling. It also has VRR support to reduce screen tearing and low input lag for a responsive feel. While it has a few features designed for the PS5, like Auto HDR Tone Mapping, it can't downscale a 4k image, and there are some flicker issues with VRR enabled.

Sony's Inzone M3, a 1080p budget conversion of Sony's 4K Inzone M9, is a less-appealing, pricey choice for a high-refresh-rate gaming monitor.

Competitive gamers who spend more time on their PlayStation 5 than their PC may appreciate what Sony’s Inzone M3 has to offer. However, more serious PC gamers may find the current price point unattractive compared to other esports-leaning 1080p gaming monitors out there.

Sony’s Inzone M3 is a disappointing follow-up to the genuinely exciting Inzone M9. The M9, although not cheap, was the least expensive way to buy a monitor with local dimming zones when it hit in the summer of 2022. The M3’s position is exactly the opposite: it lacks any standout feature, yet ranks among the most expensive monitors in its category. To make matters worse, the monitor’s 240Hz refresh rate is a bad fit for PlayStation 5 owners, as the PS5 supports a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz. The monitor’s combination of high pricing and awkward feature set makes Sony’s sophomore monitor a miss.
