The MSI Optix MAG161V is a mediocre office monitor. The small screen is best-suited as a secondary display when working on the go. It has excellent gray uniformity, great text clarity, and outstanding low input lag. Surprisingly, the viewing angles are mediocre, which is a bit worse than usual for an IPS panel, and unfortunately, the stand has terrible ergonomics. Finally, it's not a great choice if your work requires accurate colors, as it has a disappointing SDR color gamut and poor color volume.

MSI’s Optix MAG161V boasts an attractive design with impressive port and customization options. But its dim panel doesn’t deal with glare well, and its origami stand is a pain.

The Optix MAG161V, MSI's first portable gaming monitor, connects with a range of gaming consoles, smartphones, and computers. It's solid for casual gaming, but its brightness peak and overall color coverage are ho-hum at best.
