ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q
The ASUS PG279Q is a very good monitor for most uses. It's an outstanding gaming monitor with clear motion and low input lag. The high-resolution screen, wide viewing angles, and great ergonomics also make it a great office monitor. It doesn't support HDR or wide color gamuts, but it's still a good monitor for media creation or watching videos, but like most IPS monitors, it doesn't look as good in a dark room.

Asus' new addition to its ROG line isn't perfect but it certainly delivers on its promise. With a sharp and bright IPS panel, 165Hz and G-Sync, the PG279Q has everything an enthusiast could want. It doesn't come cheap but we suspect that buyer's remorse will be rare to non-existent. We enjoyed gaming on it and think you will too.

The Acer Predator XB321HK isn’t cheap but we think it’s worth every penny. It’s a flagship display that earns every bit of its title. Ultra HD gaming is still a challenge just because of the massive number of pixels that have to be moved. You’ll need an equally expensive system to realize its full potential, but if you have the means you won’t find better image quality anywhere.

The Asus ROG Swift PG279Q is, on paper, the ideal 27-inch gaming monitor. It has an IPS panel, so overall image quality should be superb, plus it can refresh at up to 165Hz and includes G-Sync technology too. Unless you’re after a super-high-resolution 4K display, there simply isn’t anything more that could be packed into this screen.

As just mentioned, this display arrives looking pretty good right out of the box. That AHVA panel benefits from superb viewing angles, plus contrast is good with an obvious depth to dark areas of the image and a rich yet natural quality to colours.
