Huawei’s MateBook 16 is its latest attempt at a flagship MacBook competitor. It includes AMD’s lightning-fast Ryzen 7 5800H. It performs well with excellent battery life, but there are weird things here and there that you won’t see from other premium laptops.

The Huawei MateBook 16 had potential to be one of the best laptops released in 2021, with a beautiful 3:2 display and plenty of ports, but it's massively let down by it's own global availability. In addition to it being extremely hard to find, it's wider ecosystem of products can also be elusive or restricted, which makes the entire package less appealing.

The Huawei MateBook 16 is a solid laptop with a great 16-inch screen that’s ideal for working and watching video content. Add to this an excellent battery life and a quick eight-core processor, and there’s no doubt this is one of the best 16-inch laptops available for productivity. That said, the webcam’s odd location may be a deal-breaker for those who frequent video conferences.
