Thanks to the latest AMD Ryzen 9 and Nvidia RTX 3070 hardware, you get desktop-replacement performance paired with fantastic battery life and a genuinely stylish design, something few gaming laptops can claim. Just don't try to do any Zoom meetings with it.

While at a first glance the 2022 Asus ROG Zephyrus G15 might seem like a minor update of the previous G15 models from 2021, in real-life this is now a better-balanced product than it used to be, and a much better-value buy in today's environment. Thus, if you're on a tighter budget but still want a capable multi-purpose thin-and-light laptop with excellent gaming abilities, this must be on your list. Just make sure you understand the noise/thermals particularities, and keep this mostly indoors.

Though the RTX 3070 configuration feels slightly underpowered for 1440p gaming at ultra settings, the ROG Zephyrus G15 is an outstanding laptop for gamers and content creators alike. It’s a worthy option for anyone considering an RTX 30-series laptop with a budget under $2,000.

The Zephyrus G15 is a fairly competent all-round portable 15-inch laptop. It performs admirably in demanding loads and pairs the hardware with a compact build and a punchy and fast screen, a great option for daily use and gaming, and even a fine one for color-accurate work. However, the smudgy materials, the shallow keyboard, the MaxQ-only GPU options, and especially the wonky thermal design and high internal temperatures, these all eat into its potential, both as a gaming ultraportable and as a multi-tasker.
