The Asus ROG Flow Z13 offers weak performance for its high price, unless you add a pricey graphics dock to the equation.

The Asus ROG Flow Z13 is by far the most compact gaming system that you can get in the market. It offers a solid build quality that will surely grab a lot of attention and provides a balance of work and play while on the move. The system does come with similar hardware as other Flow-series products. But the ROG Flow Z13 feels like a better package for anyone who prefers portability over form factor.

The Asus ROG Flow Z13 is a gaming tablet that looks like a Surface Pro, but it can run many games at playable frame rates. It’s not an affordable device, and it can’t run demanding games well, but it’s an impressive effort.

The ROG Flow Z13 is still a unique device, a powerful all-purpose computer in a compact 13-inch tablet form factor. In fact, it's significantly more powerful in this 2023 update than the previous generation, and offers a display that's better suited for everyday use, creative work, and gaming. Just make sure the format is right for you, and that the middling battery life suffices your needs.

The Asus ROG Flow Z13 is a genuinely exciting product in a largely stale market, offering a 2-in-1 form factor with gaming laptop-level specs and great performance to boot – it’s just too expensive for the majority of consumers, especially when paired with the XG Mobile dock.

The Asus ROG Flow Z13 takes the design of Microsoft’s Surface Pro, and gives it the power of a gaming PC. It’s an incredibly versatile device, allowing you to play games on the go, or leverage the power of a high-end PC with the optional external GPU. But the poor battery life limits its portability prowess and the sub-standard keyboard isn’t ideal for hardcore gamers, making it a gaming laptop with very niche appeal.

The Asus ROG Flow Z13 is burrowed so deeply into its niche that it can't find a practical audience. Its standalone performance is exceptional for a tablet, but meager compared to laptops at its price, and the benefits it gets from the eGPU hardly merit the extra bulk and cost that come with it. If you can live with owning a desktop and separate tablet or laptop, absolutely do that instead.
