An incredibly comfortable headset with a surprisingly crisp microphone, the HyperX Cloud III is a reliable, no-frills option for PC and consoles. But, with a hefty price bump and the Cloud Alpha offering better audio at the same price, it’s not the instant hit it could have been.

The HyperX Cloud III isn’t made to be the gaming headset to end all gaming headsets, but it’s a great value option at $100. It’s built to last, can support a wide range of platforms, and will deliver solid audio out of the drivers and in through the mic. If you’re not after bells and whistles, you can’t go wrong here.

The Cloud III is an excellent new option, comfortable and lightweight with a nice design and excellent battery life, all at a very sensible price point.
