While it doesn't completely liquify fibrous elements like kale or broccoli, it makes a fairly smooth blend and will have an easier time with softer ingredients like cooked carrots or tomatoes. It doesn't offer a very wide range of speed settings, but it's well-built and quiet when it's running.
