The DJI Avata is great for those who want to get a taste of drone racing, but don’t want to build a drone from scratch. However, if you’re looking for a drone for videography, look to DJI’s other models.

The DJI Avata is a small, intuitive but expensive introduction to FPV drones for beginners. It's slower than the current DJI FPV, but has a better camera and an enhanced ability to cope with hitting branches. But while it's lighter and more agile than its FPV sibling, the Avata's price could keep it relatively niche.

The DJI Avata is a consumer-friendly way to get into the world of fast-paced FPV piloting, with everything you need in a nice neat package. The Motion Controller is particularly handy for newbies with intuitive controls, but pro-level users may find it restrictive. The downside is the upfront cost, especially if you don’t have existing DJI FPV accessories.
