The Lenovo Ideapad Yoga 11S is an ultrabook, first and foremost. It’s a powerful one at that thanks to 8GB RAM and a generous 256GB of solid state storage, but the Yoga part of its name refers to the extra flexibility it offers. Like the larger 13-inch

With a 1.5GHz Intel Core i7 processor, 8GB RAM and a 256GB SSD, the Ideapad Yoga 11S is certainly speedy, despite the fact it’s still using an ‘Ivy Bridge’ processor rather than the latest Haswell ones. Regular tasks fly by, and boot up times are as snappy as you would expect, with 18 seconds for a restart and just eight for a start from cold.

The keyboard is pretty good for an 11.6-inch laptop. Despite the limited space, we found it extremely comfortable to use, and we were able to get a decent typing speed with a little practice. We would have preferred a slightly larger spacebar though, as we hit the Alt keys by mistake a few too many times. There’s also a little flex in the keyboard’s base, particularly in centre, but not enough to cause alarm.
