Dell XPS 13 2-in-1

Dell’s latest premium convertible sports a bright screen and long battery life, plus improved performance thanks to a 10th Gen “Ice Lake” CPU. But a lackluster keyboard and build quality issues mean you may want to consider alternatives.

Dell’s new XPS 13 2-in-1 features a completely new design, with a better display, better performance, and features you can’t get on the standard XPS 13. If you’re looking at Dell’s latest laptops this year, the 2-in-1 should be at the top of your list.

The Dell XPS 13 was already excellent, and it’s a smart move from Dell to release this hybrid edition without compromising the design and functionality of the original vision. The XPS 13 2-in-1 is an ultrabook that will likely fit in to any home or work environment better than many other laptops out there. The thin bezels, excellent keyboard and thoughtful design are marred only by a high asking price. The hybrid form is well-executed too, although it’s worth thinking carefully about whether you’ll appreciate a folding touchscreen when it comes at a premium. Then again, this is the future.

The Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 is close to being the perfect convertible 2-in-1 laptop. It's got a premium design, flaunts Intel's new Ice Lake chip which is capable of casual gaming and has an absolutely gorgeous display. Dell's determination to convert to the new USB-C ports may frustrate those who don't want to use adaptors to hook up old peripherals and it's unfortunate how much the 4K panel saps the battery, but otherwise it's difficult to find much wrong with this superb portable.
